A range of school holiday programs are available through Super Mande Percussion – African Drumming Academy & Performance including:

  • African drumming.
  • African dance.
  • African singing.
  • Drum making.
  • Any combination of the above.

Mady Keita loves the school holiday programs he runs with the kids.  The children have an affinity for learning and listening due to their enquiring minds, according to Mady, and this allows them to accept more openly a different tradition to the western traditions that they adopt.

The drumming and dance sessions help stimulate communication by creating an atmosphere where they feel comfortable and inspired to ask questions.

The drum making workshops provide an opportunity for the kids to learn some creative and practical new skills and take home their very own hand-made drums and other percussion instruments.

Next Available School Holiday Program

Let your kids get rhythmic with your next school holiday program.

This program will focus on hand drumming (djembe drums), as well as base drums (doun douns), which are played with sticks, and other types of percussion instruments such as bells and shakers.  

Your kids will have the opportunity to learn the basics of African drumming from Master Drummer Mady Keita, and to master and perform a single routine by the end of the workshop.

 

Suitability

  • Perfect for kids aged 5-12 years old.
  • No previous experience is needed.
