How our drum-making workshops are run

Workshops run for 4-6 hours per day over 2 days and are taught by Mady Keita - a professional Master Drummer and Drum Craftsman from Mali, West Africa.
Workshops occur in small groups.  No experience is necessary and students are challenged individually based on skill level.

The workshop fee is $600 ($570 Concession) plus GST with a 10% deposit payable upfront.  Multiple payment options are available, including payment plans.

Learn all the steps to make your very own djembe and to keep it well maintained and tuned into the future.
Workshops take place at our shop in Bayswater - 10/655 Mountain Highway.  Refer to map and parking instructions below.

Workshops are run across 2 days, generally on Saturdays and Sundays, from 10:00am, for 4-6 hours per day.  Allow an extra 24 hours for your drum to be dry and ready to play.

*** If you can't make it for the 2 consecutive days, just let us know and we'll work out a suitable alternative. ***

We operate with a COVIDSafe Plan and keep up to date with government requirements.  We can re-schedule if the workshop needs to be cancelled due to the pandemic.
